The Power Limits feature allows optical signal restrictions to be defined for ONU/ONT provisioning. This ensures that only devices operating within acceptable power levels are activated on the network.

Power limits can be configured and managed directly by the customer.
The user must have permission to edit Network Infrastructure in order to create and modify power limits.
📌 Fields marked with * are required.
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| OLT | Defines the OLT where the limit will be applied | ✅ |
| Chassis | Identification of the OLT chassis | ❌ |
| Slot | OLT slot where the limit will be applied | ❌ |
| Port (PON) | Specific port/PON where the limit will be applied | ❌ |
| Power Limit (ONU RX) * | Minimum acceptable optical power received by the ONU (in dBm) | ✅ |
| Power Limit (OLT RX) | Minimum acceptable optical power received by the OLT (in dBm) | ❌ |
| Description | Additional information used to identify the rule | ❌ |
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| OLT Scope | Applies the limit to the entire OLT when only the OLT field is specified |
| Slot Scope | Allows the limit to be restricted to a specific slot |
| PON Scope | Applies the limit to a specific port/PON |
| Provisioning Validation | Blocks provisioning if the power level is below the configured limit |
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Register | Creates a new power limit |
| Update | Saves changes made to the limit |
| Delete | Removes a configured power limit |
💡 When you click Save/Update, the system will automatically validate power levels during provisioning.
Power limits can be created directly by the customer through the system interface.
| Field | Example Value |
|---|---|
| OLT | Teste Automatico HUAWEI |
| Chassis | 0 |
| Slot | 2 |
| Port (PON) | 14 |
| Power Limit (ONU RX) | -30.0 dBm |
| Power Limit (OLT RX) | -30.0 dBm |
The power limit acts as a safety mechanism during provisioning.
| Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
| Power level within the limit | Provisioning allowed |
| Power level below the limit (e.g. -28 dBm with a -27 dBm limit) | Provisioning blocked |
💡 This validation prevents activations with poor signal quality, reducing operational issues and field rework.
